Is Mac Miller considered good?

I heard a couple of his songs at one point and thought he was wack and figured he'd just kinda fizzle out...now I see he has a song with talib so I listen to it and I'm just scratching my head thinking WTF is going on here? I mean, to me, he's pretty corny/dorky/weak but I'm curious what his status is in the underground community...I mean is this guy considered dope or what?
